About Conquest

Conquest is a world domination strategy game — a free online alternative to Risk® you can play in your browser. Armies are spread across a world map of territories; each turn you collect reinforcements, roll dice to invade your neighbors, and fortify your borders. Take a whole continent for bonus armies, trade card sets for reinforcements, and eliminate every rival to win.

Play against up to five computer generals across three difficulties, pass one device around the table, or play online: host a public game anyone can join, Quick Match into an open game, or send friends a private invite link. Choose the full 42-territory Classic map or the faster 30-territory Compact map.

How to play

  • Reinforce: place your new armies — you get more for holding territories and whole continents.
  • Attack: drag from one of your territories onto a highlighted enemy neighbor to roll the dice — blitz mode keeps rolling until the battle is decided. Highest dice win; ties go to the defender.
  • After conquering a territory, choose how many armies push forward, then keep attacking or stop.
  • Fortify: move armies anywhere a chain of your own territories reaches, as many moves as you like, then end your turn.
  • Conquer at least one territory in a turn to earn a card — trade matching sets for big reinforcements.
  • Take every territory on the map to win.

Frequently asked questions

Is this like Risk?

Yes — if you're looking for a free Risk® style game online, Conquest plays the way you remember: territories on a world map, dice battles, continent bonuses, and card trade-ins. It's an original, independent game with its own maps, not affiliated with Hasbro.

Can I play against other people online?

Yes — host a public game for 2-6 players that anyone can join, use Quick Match, or create a private game and send friends the link. Empty seats can be filled with bots so the game always starts.

Can I play against the computer?

Yes, against 1-5 bots at three difficulties: Easy attacks on a whim, Normal is a solid tactician, and Hard plays the long game — holding continents and breaking yours.

How long does a game take?

About 20-40 minutes on the Compact map and 40-90 minutes on the Classic map, depending on player count. Escalating card bonuses keep endgames from dragging.

Is it free?

Completely free, no download and no signup, on desktop or phone.
